Sooooo love me those compliments!
I think it was probably when I was
a teacher that I got used to giving
compliments. I made an effort to give
a dozen compliments or positive
comments each class and throw in a
few during break as well. I loved my
students and it took so little effort to
acknowledge their 'trying hard'!!!
Now at 70, I find myself saying fun
things to perfect strangers everywhere
I go. I actually get a kick out of, "Love
your boots! Fab hairdo! Love your purple!
Great outfit! WOW, you look fab! I want
to look just like you when I grow up!"
The trick is to say it and walk away. No
embarrassment for anyone and it doesn't
allow for misunderstandings. Interestingly
enough, I'm often stopped as people will
say things like, "You just made my day!
Bless you for saying that! Isn't it fun to
be eccentric! I just love getting older!"
And, a slew of other amazing comments.
I so want us to make a stab at kindness
and getting along with others! It works!
exchanging comments
love the beauty of it all
just takes a moment
