So love me some old black and whites!

I've lived m entire life under the maxim,
'LOVE people; LIKE things' . . . I've been
successful, per se, but there are times
when I just can't help myself.

I was thinking the other day about some
of the old black and whites that I just love.
Being utterly selective, I made a mental list
of about nine, I think. And, realization struck!
Most of the black and whites I love are dark
tragedies, i.e. To Kill a Mockingbird, The
Grapes of Wrath, How Green was My Valley.
One of the things that strike me about this
is that today I like low-key 'who done its'.

Just think about it, watch The Miracle Worker
and I guarantee you, you'll be tearing up for
days. Maybe it's because my brother was
blind, but I simply can't watch it without
falling apart. And, here's me retiring lo
these many years later, I may as well watch
Goodbye, Mr. Chips and sob my heart out!

Wonder if I could get a laugh or two out of
Oliver Twist?! Perhaps, 'tis worth a try, but
still love me some old flicks!

in need of a think
wandering down yesteryear
been missing the path
