05/31/2026 - Blue Moon

"A blue moon refers to the
presence of a second full
moon in a calendar month."
~Wikipedia

So love me a blue moon!

I honor the scientific side,
but I do enjoy the romance
of a blue moon. After all,
they only occur once in a
blue moon. Ha!

Glad the weather will be
nice as I'd like to sit out
a while in the afternoon.

I'll honor the blue moon
and make three wishes.
They will be special.

The child within anxiously
awaits . . .

Happy Blue Moon!

"When I'm an old lady
I want to be one of those
women that has a cabin
full of plants, weird rocks
and crystals. That just
minds her own business
with her crazy hair."
~Witch, Crone Shaman,
and Sage

Actually, methinks I have
arrived! I don't tend to
think of myself as an old
lady, but I guess I am.

I've got the plants, rocks
and crystals. And God and
sundry all know about the
crazy hair.

If you need a crone witch
experience, come on by
for a brewski under my
fave tree . . .

"Those who take the
scenic route because
it's prettier, keep smooth
stones from special places,
and feel better after a rain
storm - I see your magic."
~Earthy Herbs

Ahhhhh, just my special
kind of magick!

I so love and honor that
part of my home that
bleeds into the forest!
I find healing simply
by observing the beauty
provided by our Mother.

I get that we're all diff.
Some like living in the
midst of a city whilst
others wish to be as
far away as possible.

There are those who
live in condos, others
in high rises, oceans
and mountains as well.

I find it both amazing
and lovely  . . . all the
different tastes and
enjoyment . . .

Sending some happy!!!

Get such a kick out of
seeing how different
retirees live and play!

One of my oldest pals
travels the world over.
Sometimes on her own
and others with a friend.

Others take short trips
to nearby places. Yet
some spend a lot of
time at malls and stores.

Then there are those of
us who have been there,
done that and now like
to stay at home with
murder mysteries and
eats in bed.

Go figure! Methinks has
to do with dif personality
prefs. Know I'm enjoying
the hell out of my own
end of lifestyle!!!

Have fun, whatever you
choose . . .

"You live most of your
life inside your head.
Make sure it's a nice
place to be." ~Angie Shea

Fab reminder!

Right or wrong, I live
in my head a great deal.

I like to think things out.
I enjoy remembering . . .
helps with the doldrums.
I even have conversations
in my head.

When I need to, I talk to
my dad in my head. Much
to say and he gets me. I
always feel better after a
long chat with him.

Memories, remembrances,
recalls . . . fab visits!!!

"I have danced with your
memory a thousand times."
~Zen to Zany

Has to do with Memorial
Day. Can't stop thinking
about my father.

I do talk to my dad almost
every day. He's who I talk
to in a manner of praying.

I always could talk to him.
Could tell him anything.
Was the least judgmental
person I ever met.

In fact, he was the one
who informed me at the
age of 13 that I was to
be called to the Pantheist
path.

No, I never, ever forget
my dad, not even for a
moment. Still, Memorial
Day simply screams his
absence.

My heart sooooo hurts . . .

May 25, 2026

05/25/2026 - Memorial Day

I come from a military
family.

Praise the Universe . . .
they all came home. I
can't even begin to
imagine losing anyone
to war. Such heartache.

I pray each family who
have lost a beloved to
war, be comforted today.

You are in my heart . . .

Blessed be.

"Faithless is he that says
farewell when the road
darkens." ~J.R.R.Tolkien

Tolkien, always good
with those much needed
reminders.

Alas, I believe I've sinned
thusly. Afraid of the dark
perhaps. But as one grows
older, we learn to stay the
distance.

Having said that, I'd be the
first to admit the fear, even
terror. A lot of us actually
grow up afraid of the dark!

'Tis perhaps that we elders
don't run so fast as we once
did. Best to sit tight and
face the music.

I'm at least down to dark
days rather than dark times.

Courage . . .

05/23/2026

I've been told, from
time to time, that I'm
an eccentric.

I do know my dad was,
but I still have trouble
defining the word.

I've worn naught but
black since I retired. I
have 13 sets of black
so I can change daily.
Not sure if that's crazy
or eccentric. Ha.

Wonder if living happily
in a 150 year old tiny
cabin counts?!

Feel free to enlighten
me; I am curious . . .

 - - -

"Eccentric . . .
refers to behavior, habits
or appearances that deviate
significantly from accepted
or conventional norms.The
term implies an odd, peculiar
or unconventional style that
is uniquely one's own, often
regarded as whimsical rather
than harmful." Vocabulary.com

"The healer suffers first.
Then returns with the
medicine."
~The Pagan Collective

Methinks 'tis a true gift
to be called to be a healer.

Still, I can only imagine
the exhaustion from doling
out healing whenever and
wherever one can.

I question, do those of us in
need ever serve the healer?
Do we send flowers, make
a meal, take them out, pray
for them?

I swear I am going to take
a serious look at those who
have helped me on my path,
those who have healed me
when needed.

I must find a way to honor
their givings, expecting
naught in return . . .

"Do not grow old, no
matter how long you
live. Never cease to
stand like curious children
before the Great Mystery
in which we were born."
~Albert Einstein

Beautiful, beautiful words!

What I find interesting about
Albert Einstein would be the
fact that despite his brilliance,
he understood real life.

I'm still learning and I pray
I learn that great lesson in
these words!

Methinks it boils down to
LIVE rather than EXIST.

- - -

"Albert Einstein was a
German-born theoretical
physicist and mathematician
who revolutionized physics
and our understanding of the
universe. He's best known
for his equation E=mc2."

"Every part of your
journey has meaning.
Embrace it all."
~Goddess Love

I actually believe I've
done this my entire life.

Loved life, experiences,
happenings . . . all good!

I will admit, there are
days and times when
this whole aging process
catches me out. I can be
a tad cranky. Ouch!

But, as my father before
me used to say, "Isn't it
a glorious morn? So great
to be alive."

Obviously, I'm an old
gal, med hight, weight . . .

Having owned up . . .

I say, I am concerned
about the anorexia I
witness in today's stars.

Why is it necessary to
be bone thin? Why is
this the norm of today?

I hear about the hardly
eating, the throwing up,
the fasting . . . not only
NOT healthy, methinks
early death awaits along
with all types of health
issues.

Alas, we need to revisit
our belief systems with
our very messed up view
of beauty . . .

Colorado waits . . .
as the long promised
snow arrives today.

Spring, not winter,
but here's hoping for
several inches of that
much needed moisture.

We are to be blest with
both rain and snow. I
am vastly concerned
as not having a proper
winter this year will
affect Colorado's crops
in all areas.

We also supply water
for other states. What
happens when there is
naught to be shared?!

I pray the Universe
smiles on us today!!!

Blessed be . . .

*Feel your body.
*Drink some water.
*Spend time outside.
*Write down thoughts.
*Listen to favorite songs.
*Take a break.
*Appreciate the birds.
*Call someone you love.
*Speak kind words.
*Wear something bright.
*Ask for help.
~Anxiety Positive

Every now and then, the
Universe finds a way to
send much needed advice.

If ever there is a list to be
followed, 'tis this one.
Methinks I need to tattoo
it on my brain and in my
heart.

Follow the list, make your
own, add and subtract, but . . .

 . . . do something positive
for yourself during difficult
times.

 . . . do something positive
for yourself every single day!

"Age didn't slow me
down, it just changed
what I run toward."
~Wilderness Times

Who would've guessed
just how much I enjoy
being in my late 70s!

Like where I live. Love
my fam and friends. Get
a kick out of my murder
mysteries (both book &
movies), hours I keep,
foods I eat, wine and
dine me all I want!

Methinks the aches and
pains are naught when
looking at the joy of
living.

My intention is to enjoy
right down to the last
minute!

What a life! Salud . . .

"If nothing saves us
from death, may love
at least save us from
life." ~Pablo Neruda

Ever and always love
Pablo Neruda. 'Twas
during my 20 years in
Mexico that I read and
enjoyed so much of his
work.

Yet, this particular quote
is beyond the pale . . .
phenomenal!

Methinks it suggests there
are difficulties in life that
only love can help us
survive.

I can sooooo attest to this!

Love has gotten me through
cancer, losing the home my
father built for me, running
away from home, living in
poverty and trying my best
to grow up.

I salute LOVE, honor those
have loved me through the
most difficult times, and
those who love me still . . .

 . . . eccentric, weird, crazy
woman that I am!

"Stay aligned with your
own morals, values, and
energy and let people
meet you there."
~Goddess Love

Need to think about this . . .

The people I love come
from all different walks
of life. They often believe
differently than I do. It's
simply not an issue.

This doesn't mean we
don't meet and greet
within the realm of
similar values. Simply
said, we walk different
spiritual paths.

But, what's that old adage?
"All roads lead to Rome."

I have a feeling that all
spiritual paths lead to the
light.

Blessed be . . .

"Life is all about balance.
Balance is not something
you find ... it's something
you create."
~Muses from a Mystic

Perhaps bears repeating . . .
I've searched for balance
my entire life.

As the most unbalanced
Libra I've ever known,
methinks 'tis not bloody
likely I'll find it this late
in the day.

Guess now it's all about
self acceptance . . .

   -So what if I'm uneven?
   -So what if balance isn't
       in the docket for moi?
-So what if my ups and
       downs make no sense?

Perhaps this time of life
is indeed all about living,
enjoying, doing, no matter . . .

 . . . balance or imbalance!

May 12, 2026

05/12/2026

I find myself loving
my crone years . . .

I enjoy doing what
ever I feel like doing.
I love living quietly.
I so like the hours I
keep.

Obviously, aging has
its own difficulties.
Yet, I find both joy and
gratitude to have been
allowed these additional
years of my life.

I look back at each period
of my life. I enjoyed them
all. Most thankful for the
memories.

Not quite done yet . . .
I'm still loving life!

Blessed be . . .

Crazy days of May . . .

   -May 1, Beltane
   -May 5, Cinco de Mayo
   -May 10, Mother's Day
   -May 25, Memorial Day
   -May 27, Eid al-Adha
   -May 30, Blue Moon Eve
   -May 31, Blue Moon

Rather unbelievable, don't
you think?! One could be
an alcoholic by the end of
the month!

Oh well, as 'tis my daughter's
b-day/b-month . . . 'twill ever
and always be my fave!

BTW, if you want to celebrate
any of the above dates, just
let me know . . .

May 10, 2026

05/10/2026 - Mother's Day

I find myself thinking
of all my girls . . .

. . . Linda, Katie, Emily
Sarah and Jennifer . . .

 . . . all fab moms!

Lovely to be especially
remembered on this day,
but what moves me are
those little daily acts
reminding me I am
loved by my children.

That phone call out of
the blue, a sweet card in
the mail, an unexpected
gift, an email.

Methinks the children
are beyond busy with
their own. They must
feel as I once did . . .
overworked beyond
the pale.

I send each of you love
and courage. I thank the
Universe for you.

Blessed be, mom

"Live your life and
forget your age."
~Goddess Love

I'm trying! I'm trying!

Except there are so
many reminders that
I'm about a 100 years
old. Damn it!

I don't recognize moi
in the mirror any more.
Age spots abound and
my knees go out from
time to time.

But bottom line, I am
still here, enjoying life
my children, family,
my friends.

Methinks it doesn't get
any better than that!

Now, here's hoping my
mind doesn't decide to
go on vacation!

"Integrity means that
what you thought, what
you said and what you
did, are all the same."
~Goddess Love

Wondrous words of
wisdom . . .

Methinks I have finally
found that perfect bit
of true wisdom. Some-
thing to truly strive for.

Rather wish I could
have this etched on my
brain for ever and a day.

Might just be the best
read before starting out
each morn.

Blessed be . . .

'Tis the morn of the
day after . . .

And here we are . . .
watching our 15 plus
inches of snow, now
half of that.

So thank the universe
for this most needed
moisture. I would add,
we're experiencing a
very different season
than usual.

Can't help but wonder
how this will affect out
crops and daily temps.

Still, ever so glad to be
here . . . alive and well
for all that . . .

May 6, 2026

05/06/2026

OMG . . .

Mother Nature has gifted
us such incredible beauty
today.

The back yard is simply
beyond greeting card
beautiful!

My guy estimates we
have about 15" and it's
still snowing.

Methinks going back
to bed is a grand idea,
although the fireplace
feels quite alluring.

Just have to see what
other gifts the Universe
brings today . . .

05/05/2026 - Cinco de Mayo

I have to think about what
Cinco de Mayo means to
me . . .

'Twas the birth of my mom,
without whom I would not
exist.

Added to that . . . the birth
of my daughter in her name.

Obviously, after 20 years in
Mexico, I properly recall the
historical meaning of Cinco
de Mayo.

Having said that . . . 'twill
ever and always be the births
of my mother and daughter
that mean the most to me . . .

Know this;  I'll be celebrating
with boots on . . . make no
mistake!!!

- - -

Cinco de Mayo is the annual
celebration held on May 5 to
celebrate Mexico's victory
over the Second French Empire
at the Battle of Puebla in 1862,
led by General Ignacio Zaragoza.

Been seeing moi back
in the classroom in
my dreams of late.

Loved teaching with
a passion unlike any
other. Soooo miss it;
also love me some
retirement!

I do get to teach the

thankful.

So wish my students

"There are beautiful
ways to find peace and
serenity, even in the
middle of unending
chaos." ~Zen to Zany

Much needed reminder!

I rather like that this
reminder doesn't include
answers . . . 'tis for each
to find their own.

I find peace in some of
my reading. Probably
should read more of this
kind than the mysteries
I so like.

Sitting outside on nice
days w/a cold beer is
def on the peaceful relax
side of things.

Talking to my children
'tis the best of all. Get to
that that today. Yayyyyy . . .

I pray we all find that
tad of peace we need to
survive tough times.

05/02/2026

Methinks I'm still in
May Day mode. 'Twas
such a glorious Beltane
and I loved every min
of it!

Looking back . . .
a fab meal, the p.m.
with my son, a few
hours of fire on the
hearth and champagne
to top it all off.

Sooooo love me some
Beltane!

Happy May . . .

May 1, 2026

05/01/2026, May Day

Beltane has finally
arrived! Yayyyyy!

Today we celebrate
the return of the sun
with fire.

Can you imagine it?
Small fires in all the
homes throughout
the US celebrating
both together and
apart.

In warmer climes . . .
the children will be
dancing around the
May Pole. Can't you
just see it?!

Pray, have a wondrous
Beltane, light your fire
within and without.

Blessed be . . .
