First day of Fall!

Autumn Equinox!!

Mabon!!!

Bottom line, a lovely

day of celebrations

all over Kingdom 

Come, as it were.

One of the delights

of today .  . . equal

in night and day.

It is also the Second

Harvest. At this time

we pay attention to

Mother Earth's bounty

and give thanks.

The name Mabon come

to us from the Welsh. 

I've always loved this

as my Welsh husband

gifted me two beautiful

children.

Do enjoy today however

you may. Celebrate!

Today is Mabon Eve.

Or perhaps you call it

the first eve of Autumn.

Got to thinking when

it was that I fell in love

with eves. 'Twas my 

parents . . .

They always celebrated

the eves of all holidays.

Mom used to say eves

were intimate gatherings

for the fam; the actual

days for eating. I like it!

The quiet evenings, 

the gentle celebrations, 

the expectations for the 

morrow. All precious.

Alas, Fall isn't my favest

time of year, but 'tis ever

so wondrous to be alive!

Sooooo loved today!

It began with my guy

inviting me to three

fab concerts . . .

   -Willy Nelson's 90th

   -The Carpenters

   -Celtic Women

Such beauty! Such joy!!

I found myself weeping

as the Celtic Women

said their goodbyes.

The day ended with our

friends stopping by for

a brewski.

I've been seeking 

perfection.

Not sure if it was due

to my sign Libra. And,

here's moi, the most

unbalanced Libra I've

ever met.

Perhaps 'twas my mother

as she was so religious. 

Still, one of the gifts of 

aging is finally accepting 

the inevitable. 

   -It is what it is!

Being gifted with age,

I find myself wowed

beyond the pale at 

how many different 

kinds of people exist.

There are those so

filled with joy they

simply cannot hold

it in.

A few so dour, can't

imagine how they 

face each day.

Some solemn, others

sad. Obviously, there

are people in every

category known to 

mankind.

I've concluded what

I want for myself, is 

the choice.

All moods have their

place, per se. But god

awful to spend all of

life in the dumps.

Methinks choosing joy

above all else just might

be a wondrous thing!

or 5 days. But, if I

had to opine, I'd say

it's upon us.

Sitting outside at 65°

rather than the usual

seventies and eighties

is a tad hard for my

aching bones.

Still I know, I must

take advantage of 

these days of heat

and sun.

I'm still here!

Having said that,

finding so many 

things interesting.

is changing. Friends

moved far and wide.

Perhaps to be nearer

their children.

Places, cafes, stores

I liked . . . going out 

of business.

My own children have

the temerity to be 50

years old. When did

that happen. They were

in school just days ago.

I am now a great gran.

Am I even old enough . . .

although I adore my

grans from afar.

No doubt about it, life

is changing. I suppose

I am changed as well.

That whole walking a

tad slower, eating and

drinking less, taking

naps . . . all to be thought

to help us out . . .

Wow! 

64 degrees this early

morn. We have been

awaking to 45 for days

so this is a veritable 

heat wave!

Methinks a grand day

awaits. My guy feels

better, my son comes

for lunch and it's not

supposed to rain 'til

the morrow.

Rather beyond brilliant!

Always thought being

informed to be important.

Having said that, I need 

a break from today's

reality, mentality, etc.

At this time in my life

I need beauty . . . the

beauty of children,

friendship, quiet times,

Mother Nature.

I find myself unable to

cope with the hunger,

the poverty in this world.

Listening to millionaires,

billionaires, trillionaires

blather on and on about

their wealth leaves me

physically ill.

For moi, 'tis all about

being w/fam and friends,

looking up at the forest

and loving the simple

life.

I sit outside by the pond.

Looking to my right is

an unequaled forest. I 

see to my left, incredible 

traffic.

If I choose to focus on

the forest, I am comforted.

If for some reason, I look

over the fence and see the

traffic, I am overwhelmed.

I was in my class

teaching when the

principal came on

the announcement

channel. 

He told us to keep

the class we had for

the day and keep the

television on.

Never seen a class

so quiet and for an

entire day.

just hurts at the

remembering of it

Someone recently

asked me about my

tools. Not really

something I talk

about much.

Still, I'm happy to

share. My favest is

my BOS. Book of

Shadows.

A diff name for a

diary. Or, maybe I

should say diary

slash scrapbook.

Like to write in mine

especially 'round the

full moon. Sooooo

love me a stunning

full moon.

Perhaps 'tis the scrap

book part I like best.

I'll see a poem I like 

or a special picture

and into the BOS it

goes.

Sometimes I simply

enjoy looking through

it. I find it brings me

joy and reminds me

why I'm still here.

I have to smile as I

have roughly 30 of

these. Methinks I

really need a proper

look-see.

Bottom line, all of us

should have a BOS

that fills our needs.

In this gift, I see I'm

granted yet another

day to live.

Per always, the word

LIVE not just EXIST 

is beyond important.

I ask myself, "What

would you like to do

today to actually live?"

As I age, my wants

and desires are simpler.

Naught wrong with it!

Today, I wish to write

a while, x-word puzzle

a bit and read. 

But most of all, I want 

to sit in the sun with my 

lover and devour that 

sunny energy, the beauty

of it.

Perhaps some things are

simply worth repeating.

Everyday finds the pair

of us outside looking

towards the forest.

What is it about swaying

trees that is so calming?!

   -Do they see us?

   -Do they have an idea

just how much they are

loved?

Obviously, trees must be

a gift from the gods. My

heart simply breaks each

time I hear of a forest fire.

Would it? Could it? Be

possible for us to have a

look-see at what we're

doing to Mother Earth?

Think water bottles, trash,

discarded food . . .

Methinks some pondering

might be in order just now!

So enjoy looking ahead, 

looking forward, to lovely 

moments about to happen.

Today, I get to see an 

old student, now a PhD, 

maybe even share a marg

or two.

Later, our neighbor besties

are coming over. Such fun!

We chose this corner of the

earth. No regrets. But it is

a solitary place. Add in that

we're now nigh onto a 100

and we only go out once a

month for gros and beers.

So the fact that those who

love us come here to see

us is a gift beyond the pale.

It's strange looking at life

from the other end. Never

thought I'd live this long.

Frankly, I find it rather

interesting.

Find myself pondering

over so many things . . .

as a kid . . .

that this was the first

day of school.

Small school in a small

town, two grades in ea

school room.

-3rd/4th - Mrs. Northrup

-5th/6th - Miss Morce

-7th/8th - Mr. Nick

-9th/10th - Mr. Thompson

Truly was a love affair

for moi. Loved my school,

loved my teachers, loved

my friends. Such happy

memories!

And speaking of love, so

wish I could see them all

again!

In reality, 'tis the why

behind I became a teacher.

41 years of sheer joy in

two countries!

As a child, my parents

would give me 15 min

silence periods due to

moi talking too much.

Obviously, I still tend

to, but I also know how

to shut up and listen. I

also love silence by the

pond, simply listening.

Have you ever noticed

that sometimes we hear

another speaking and 

we are already forming

replies in our heads?

That's not really shutting

up and listening. So must

listen more carefully!

Yikes ahoy!

We were awakened at

o' dark 30 by sounds

in the parking lot.

Not sure what the hell

was going on! By light

of day we were able to

take a look-see.

Trash can upside down,

as well as trash strewn

around. First thought . . .

raccoons.

Then we saw the paw

print on the pickup

handle and the long 

scratches emanating

from there.

Sooooo scary! Sooooo

unnerving! I admit it,

I'm scared to even take 

the trash out.

09/01/2026 - Robin

Alas, we start our new

month with a sad loss.

Robin is the mother 

of my step-children 

and a long-time friend.

One of the things I so

appreciated about her

was the way she treated

us.

We've been together just

shy of 27 years. In all

that time, she never said

a harsh word to me or

mistreated me in any 

way.

Robin was a faithful

Mormon gal. I really

have no idea if there's

a heaven . . . but, if

there is, she'll receive

a phenomenal welcome.

Rest in peace, Robin.

We will ever and always

remember you fondly.
