Columbus Day as
a child; Indigenous
Peoples' Day as an
adult . . .
Methinks the name
change most apropos.
I sorrow to think of
overcrowded lands;
cities & towns, aves
& streets, forests &
hills.
What this land must
have looked like . . .
before Columbus
came ashore.
So longing for peace,
for clean, for friendly,
for decent.
Perhaps, today is a
good reminder . . .
