"But just to keep alive is
not enough. To live, you
must have sunshine and
freedom." ~HC Andersen

Sooooo enjoying the sun
this week!

Thankful for the much
needed rains, but also
needed the sun.

I've been faithful about
getting out each day, even
on the rainy days. I pray
Mr. Sun is helping with
the depression SAD gifts
me.

Methinks 'tis going to be
a fab summer!

Grrrrrr ~!@#$%^&*()_+

Those damn mapaches
got into the trash and
spilled it all over kingdom
come!

In cleaning up, methinks
I have paid for all my sins
past, present and future!
And, I am sooooo NOT
kidding!

I had a sit down, once I
was finished, pretty pissed
off if you don't mind my
saying!

And wouldn't you know it,
the Universe sent me a gift.

An entire herd of elk passing
through our yard. Babies ahoy,
mamas paying attention to
business and a grandiose elk
of much size and antlers.

I swear, I felt the need to
kneel!

Frankly, there is naught like
our Mother Earth. She sooooo
R O C K S !!!

Bless her and bless her again!!!

"The forest is the lost
and found for the soul."
~John Muir

Methinks I may be the
luckiest ole dame in
the entire universe.

My 145 year old wee
cabin backs right into
the forest. Can't help
the traffic on the other
side, but I just keep
looking at the trees.

They are so gigantic
that they'd wipe us out
if they ever fell over.

It occurs to me that I
was meant to end up
here. Way to celebrate
those last years of life
in the midst of Mother
Nature. Lucky moi!!!

Ever so elated that I
can concentrate on the
beauty and glory of
Mother Earth rather
than my own aches
and pains of my elder
years!

You go mama . . .

Oh happy days . . .

Promise, cross my
heart, I do appreciate
all the much needed
moisture from the
last three days.

Having said that, I
see sunny days ahead
for the upcoming week.

I am grateful. I want
to be outside, dealing
with my keg beds and
enjoying the sun and
heat.

Now, if only I had the
courage to face my
library. Scares the
bejesus out of moi . . .

Jun 26, 2026

06/26/2026

Alas, methinks Mother
is more than a tad out
of sorts!

Two days running . . .
storms such as I have
naught seen before.

Rain so harsh you can't
see through it. Hail so
large it fits your palm.
Lightening frightening
beyond belief.

I see cars parked as one
can't drive through this.
And to think we're to
have yet one more day
of this deluge.

We've got a flooded
library and 'tis flooded
under the cabin.

Scary, scary times . . .

06/29/2026

p.s. Turns out the
library isn't flooded
after all. It's just
messed up from that
teenage accident.

Hey! Your fave Lang Arts
teach here.

Silly me, but it drives me
nuts to see so much misuse
of homonyms on FB.

Still, this is for fun, not
for criticism . . .

*bare the soul; lose the bear
*bridal suite for two; bridle for the horse
*capital punishment; capitol of Colorado
*dual degrees; duel with swords
*flour tortillas; flower in a vase
*grisly story of a grizzly bear
*hail falling; hair of the dog
*it's urgent; my hair lost its shine
*win a medal; don't mettle w/me
*naval officer; navel ore the belly
*see the principal; principle to live by
*raise dogs; rear children
*be stationary; stationery for writing
*their clothes are over there
*so what's new; sew the tear
*high tidal wave; waive goodbye
*write a letter; you're right of course
*your dress is nice; you're on time

God, I sooooo love vocabulary!

The Thread That Runs
So True ~Jesse Stuart

In contemplating ages,
eras and eons of late,
I've thought of my own.

As we go and grow . . .
we experience childhood,
teens, adulthood, as well
as the crone years . . .
if we're lucky.

Can't help but wonder if
my own thread that runs
so true actually runs
through my own timeline.

Is there any recognizable
parts of Linda-Dale tracing
through from the child to
the crone?

I see an innocence there,
never completely lost . . .

A bit of a calm nature,
a lover of fam and friends,
Mother Nature and the
joys in teaching.

Soon I'll be entering my
olde crone years. I so
pray wisdom awaits . . .

'Tis ever so amazing
those precious moments
in life when someone
touches your soul.

Methinks we all have
times of down. And then,
as if a miracle is gifted,
a friend lifts you up.

Alas, we live in a world
where acquisition seems
to matter most. And yes,
we all need and appreciate
hearth and home.

But bottom line, it's true
friendship that makes all
worthwhile.

Those precious few, true
and faithful, have saved
me again and again.

So thank the Universe
for sending me this gift!

Still reeling from the
joys and sorrows of
yesterday.

Lifting a glass to
Mother Earth honoring
her on the longest day
of the year. Pure joy!

Remembering my dad
ever and always, but
especially on Father's
Day. Both joy and
sorrow.

Summer is my fave
time and I will indeed
enjoy it.

May we all bask in the
summer sun for a while.

06/21/2026 - Father's Day

I imagine we are all
thinking of our dads
today.

Some still have them
and others have lost
them.

My heart so goes out
to those whose dads
were incapable of . . .
being loving, supportive
or kind.

So miss my dad, prob
the greatest love of my
life. I still sit by the fire
place and talk to him.

It helps just a bit . . .

"Real freedom is
realizing there is
nothing to prove."
~Goddess Love

Seems we spend our
entire lives proving
ourselves . . . to our
parents, family and
friends, as well as to
ourselves.

So wish this wisdom
would be granted at
a younger age. We
learn ever so much
in our elder years.

There needs to be a
time when energy
and knowledge come
at the same time.

Epiphanies ahoy . . .

06/19/2026 - Juneteenth

"Juneteenth National
Independence Day is
a federal holiday. It
commemorates the end
of slavery in the US."
Wikipedia

I sooooo honor this
day, this celebration
of freedom.

Alas, we still have a
way to go for absolute
equality. 'Tis something
to strive for; make no
mistake.

A good idea to extend
equality anywhere and
everywhere.

   -treat all children alike
   -treat fam & friends well
   -treat all animalia kindly

I am wowed by the disdain
I see in our world today.
Obviously, we can't mend
all the fences.

Still, if each of us holds
true in our own circles,
equality, kindness, and
decency will prevail.

Pray, may Juneteenth
remind us . . .

"Note to self: Don't get
so busy that you miss
the fireflies, the moon
rise, the wild flowers,
and the colors painted
across the evening sky!"
~lunajane

Sooooo enjoying this
part of retirement.

I've ever and always
been a nature lover. So
many special moments
to cherish.

Still, I would have to
admit that in my elder
years I get to see more
Mother Nature, loving
and adoring her.

I'm reminded of that
old adage, "Stop and
smell the roses."
(Walter Hagen?)

So, sitting my ass
down and enjoying
the scenery she gifts
us!

Happy days . . .

"Enjoy the little things."
Goddess Love

I like to think I always
have.

Having said that, I'd
have to confess . . .
in my elder years, I so
enjoy the those little
things.

Sun rises and sets,
morning dew on the
ground, stars coming
out, an unexpected
visit.

Obviously, one can't
go back. But, so wish
'midst the hurry of
those days, I had seen
more, noticed more.

Perhaps this is yet
another gift of aging . . .

"Happiness is not
something you pursue.
It is a decision."
~Diane Riley

Such wisdom!

So hope I'm listening.
I like to think a sense
of contentment is best.

I tend to see happiness
as those precious times
when joy is abounding.

Not certain if I'm right
or wrong. Just wish to
live my own life with
a positive attitude.

And maybe, just maybe
one doesn't strive to be
happy. Strive to live
rather than exist and
happiness will follow.

But never take a sense
of contentment for granted.

OMG . . .

Yesterday was such a
gift my guy sprang on
moi!

We sat in bed as he
opened a champagne
and brought forth . . .

 . . . Tony Bennett. He
was amazing!

An hour and a half later,
we watched . . .

 . . . Barbara Streisand.
'Twas a New Year show
and beyond the pale!!

Just when I thought the
joy was over . . .

. . . Billy Joel and tribe
began something I will
never forget!!!

And to think we did it
all on only one bottle
of champagne!

A Sunday of Sundays,
ever go grateful!

Blessed be . . .

"When you start to
understand that there
isn't one more day, but
there's one less, we will
start giving more value
to the things that matter."
~Wild Woman Sisterhood

One probably doesn't get
this 'til older years.

Now that I'm in this last
round of my own personal
boxing match . . . I sooooo
get it!

I enjoy looking at my days,
seeing what's happening,
surprises and all.

Like yesterday, we were
surprised with a special
invite. Such fun!

So, what am I going to do
with my last remaining
days?

   -accept the gift of days
   -live, not just exist
   -enjoy the positive
   -reject the negative
   -love with all my heart

Let's dance!!!

"Time is the only currency
you can never earn back.
So spend it wisely."
~Unknown

Alas, methinks we have
forgotten this wisdom.

Obviously, life is full of
joyous moments, but you
still have to do the dishes.

Perhaps the Zen way of
doing things . . . taking
time rather than speeding
through chores. Doing
things thoughtfully and
calmly.

This truly bears thinking
about. One way or another,
changing sheets, sweeping
the kitchin, shaking the
rugs are all part of life.

Parties, special meals, visits
are all wonderful, but balance
is needed . . . hence the above.

Boing to give some thought
to this business of doing the
chores in Zen manner!

"The privilege of a life
time is to become who
you truly are." ~C Jung

76 years old and feeling
it . . .

I ask myself, "Do you
actually know who you
are yet?" Methinks I
should know by now.

I know I'm a mother,
a friend. I remember
well I am a teacher. I
have traveled, written,
enjoyed, sorrowed and
simply lived.

Not sure this brings me
any closer to discovering
just who I am. Perhaps
the answer might be . . .

d) all of the above!

I know many things about
moi. I am comfortable in
my own bare feet. I love
that I'm still here. Again,
I ask myself . . .

"Do you really and truly
know who you are?"

So hope to keep right on
learning!

OMG what a day!

We were out of water
so we head out to the
car.

Alas, we couldn't get
in. Neither of our keys
would work.

Using his secret key, as
he refers to it, my guy
finally got in. But, the
car wouldn't start.

He took the keys apart
and got a reading of 29.
At some point the car
started but both keys
shut down.

My son e-mailed us a
site to help with the
batteries. He checked
in with us throughout
the day. Bless him!

So, in going for water,
my guy stayed in the car
and I filled the jugs.

Then he took a turn and
ran in for new bats. Prob
solved!

Finally at home, we just
sat outside under our fave
tree with thankful hearts.

Best part of the day, our
friends came over.

Crazy, crazy day!!!

"Knowing others is
wisdom, knowing your-
self is enlightenment."
~Lao Tzu

Sooooo enjoy these bits
and pieces of wisdom
wherever I find them.

I acknowledge that the
bottom line would be to
accept and integrate them
into our souls.

As to knowing oneself,
methinks it takes an entire
lifetime. I'm still working
on it.

And, it's not only knowing
oneself, but understanding
the hows and whys this is.

I'm this way because . . .

   *my father taught me
   * mom used to do this
   *I left home too early
   * I lived abroad 20 years
*my guy expects it of me

The question to ask would be,
"Am I this way because I was
taught, or sheer laziness, or
not paying attention to business?

I do know 'tis my wish to grow
and methinks this just might
require some good, hard work!

So love and appreciate
special bits of wisdom
to be found almost any
where you look!

I get a kick out of past
events etched into my
memory. I enjoy living
my days in the here and
now. I pray I am gifted
a future.

As we have no idea of
our futures, best said

Methinks I may just

Watching my adult
children in conversation
with one another is such
a gift.

The laughter, the jibes,
the nods . . . all in good
fun and enjoyment.

Gratitude fills my heart.
Joy fills my soul. I am
sooooo in love with my
own children!

"Experience the magical
power of joy. Turn ordinary
moments into extraordinary
moments."
~muses for a mystic

Oh happy day . . .
I get to see my kids! And
that is turning an ordinary
Sunday into extraordinary
joy and bliss!

I feel like a teen on my

all lived closer. Yet, we're

"A negative mind will
never give you a positive
life!" Empaths Empowered

A brilliant reminder . . .

Never been quite sure
just how we fall into
negativity.

Is it simply that we're
not paying attention to
business? Might it be a
learned behavior from
our fams? Friends? One
thing for certain, 'tis not
a place I wish to reside!

Perhaps I need to take a
page out of Pavlov's Dogs
and prick myself when
I'm being negative.

I'm going to work on it!
Food for thought . . .

"Cornerstone Beliefs

1) sacredness of nature
2) reverence for ancestors
3) divine within ourselves"

Saw this on our infamous
FB . . . sooooo resonates
with moi!

Methinks each of us have
our three basic beliefs no
matter the path we follow.

I like the idea of giving
this some thought and
sussing out my own.
Most likely, won't differ
much from these.

I much lament that most
of us hurry through life
trying to get everything
done, that we don't have
time to slow down. For
'tis in the slowing down
we can worship, honor
our beliefs.

I'm thinking! Thinking!

"You don't have a soul.
You are a soul; you have
a body." ~C.S. Lewis

I enjoy distinctions,
clarifications. This
one is perfect! Must
be that Lang Arts teach
in moi!

Can't help but wonder . . .

Recognizing we are
souls rather than just
bodies . . . would that
make us more watchful?
More careful? More
responsible?

For me, that works. Alas
I don't pay much attention
to the bod. But, the soul
matters most greatly.

Methinks I need a look-see
into this particular vocab
and have a talk with myself!

   I am a soul . . .
   I have a body!

Wow! Just W O W !!!

"My cup runneth over."
~Psalms 23

So many sweet souls
in my life! I am ever
blest.

Kin and friends, from
far and near, enter my
door bringing bright
blessings.

How did I ever get so
lucky?! As I'm not to
drive due to Petit Mal
Seizures, I am beyond
pleased and grateful
loved ones come to moi.

I feel like doing a dance
of gratitude. Alas, at 100
years old, sooooo not
happening!

Love to you and courage
to me . . .

Blessed be.

So like the beginnings
of each day . . .

Checking my to do list,
wondering what the day
may bring. Some things
planned; others unexpected.

Today is one of those days.
It's so pretty outside and
I know we're expecting
rain at some point.

My old friend and a new
friend coming over. This
indeed makes my day.

What will we chat about?
Surely I will learn some
new things . . .

Just what I love about
a new day . . . all the
unexpected bringing joy
to the party!!!

Just wait and see . . .

06/01/2026

'Tis morn of the day
after . . . and oh what
a day it was! Still feel
great.

Makes me wonder if
we shouldn't plan for
joy as each day awakes.

One of the things I love
about getting older is
the pleasure the little
things bring me.

   -a rainy afternoon
   -sitting outside
   -listening to music
   -visits from loved ones
   -enlightening moments

Thirty days of June await.
I intend to enjoy the whole
of it . . .
