"Cherish those kindred spirits
who get your vibe . . . they are
your tribe." muses from a mystic

Sooooo love and enjoy those
dear friends who surround me!

Obviously, being in the latter
part of my life, I tend to look
at things more closely. Trying
to understand, methinks!

I look at those who go the
distance, see those who remain.
I don't know if it's a choice, the
luck of the draw, or a special
kind of magnetism?!

Yes, we are often drawn to
certain people. There is some
thing that attracts. Who knows?
There may even be divine
intervention.

The thing I do know, I do get,
is the gratitude I feel for and
toward those faithful few.

Blessed be . . .

"You are the greatest project
you will ever get to work on.
Take your time.. Create magic."
Goddess Love

Love running into wondrous
knowledge in the early a.m.
Gives me something to ponder
the entire day!

Not sure if it was how I was
reared, or the fact that I'm a
Libra, or that I'm about half
nuts. Been working on moi
for nigh onto a hundred years.
One step forward; two steps
backward. There are days 'tis
discouraging.

Still, one of the things I love
about aging, is understanding
what's important and what's
not.

Love living! Adore my fam!!
Celebrating life with friends!!!

I want to live the rest of my
life in the exclamation part!!!

Blessed be . . .

"I don't know how to act my
age. I've never been this age
before." Forever Hippies

I get a kick out of the pics
of elder women. They are
absolutely phenom!

Sometimes I lament that I'm
an all black gal. I see these
pics and think about adding
some color. I've started with
sage green.

Who knows, I may go crazy
and add in red next . . .

So hope my 18 tats count
for something! My jewelry
is fun . . . if I ever think to
put it on. Like my boots, but
slip ons are ever so much
easier.

Methinks this aging business
is a lot of work . . .

04/27/2025 - olde story just recalled . . .

Harking back . . .

I was suddenly inundated
with a childhood memory.

From the time I was six 'til
15, I raised five different
kinds of foul . . .

   -black hens
   -ducks
   -geese
   -guineas
   -turkeys

We ate the eggs from all
except the hens and those
eggs I sold to the neighbors.

Dad built a humungous cage
as big as any room. They all
lived happily enough together.
Only the guineas would fly
out during the day and return
at feeding time.

I'd go out each afternoon and
feed and water them all. Some
where in the mix, I ended up
with a ginormous rooster and
I mean ginormous.

When I'd go out to feed and
collect eggs, he'd fly up on
my back and clasp my hair
in his beak. I would tell my
parents, but they thought I
was exaggerating. Finally, I'd
carry a flyswat and be ready
for the attack.

At night, I'd kneel beside my
bed and pray that God would
take him home. Finally, one
day he died. Of course, as a
kid, I indeed thought God had
taken care of me . . . maybe
he did.

To this day, I love eggs of all
kinds and hate roosters beyond
measure!

Go figure . . .

"Grow older. Get bolder.
Let your soul wear sequins."
Bohemian Living

I simply love being 75 . . .
although sometimes I feel
175!

Alas, many hate aging . . .
Methinks they're not seeing
the alternative!

To have lived this long, seen
many a thing, experienced
ever so much . . . what a
blessing! Many a blessing!

I never expected to have
lived this long. There are
reasons for this which I
won't go into here. I find,
I'm ever so grateful!

Now that I'm this age,
I find myself hoping the
universe will gift me a
few more years.

I may even stop wearing
black . . . the only color
to have graced my bod in
well over a decade!

Some other things I need
to consider . . . what fun!!!

"The older you get the more
you realize how precious life
is. You have no desire for
drama, conflict, or stress. You
just want good friends, a cozy
home, food on the table, and
people who make you happy."
Bohemian Living

Sooooo love the sentiment of
these thoughts. Only missing
family and I have a fab one.
Praise God!

Here in my dotage, I find
myself in the joy of a tiny
145 year old cabin, a loving
family, that faithful few of
dearests and bests, simple
foods and an occasional red.

What a glorious space and
time in which to come to the
end of my life. Methinks I
have a few more years, but I
do so like where I am right
now.

Alas, even now I find myself
wishing I had always known
the above wisdom. Still, some
things are left to be learned in
latter years . . .

 . . . and as I find myself in
the latter years, I say, "Bring
on the wisdom!" I'm ready
and waiting!

04/24/2025

From the very beginning,
today promised to be an
amazing day!

I get to see my son and
Lord willing and the Devil
doesn't intervene, I'll get
to see my daughter soon!

Our children are beyond
precious from the moment
they enter the womb, 'Tis
glorious to watch them
glow over the years, to
see them become.

Methinks they are the
most precious cargo ever
gifted. What a blessing.

Perhaps, best of all would be
they teach us the meaning
of true love.

I am wowed beyond the
pale and grateful without
measure!

Blessed be . . .

"You are sacred ground.
Only let in those who honor
your divine temple." ~Ara

If ever a statement made any
kind of sense to me, 'tis this
one and it sooooo matters!

You can tell, really, when
someone desecrates your
space. When they leave,
you just want to shake off
their energy, take a shower,
change clothes.

On the other hand, when
someone brings light and
joy, you can feel their
radiance even after they
have gone on their way.

Methinks 'tis something to
strive for. Be that person
who leaves light behind
at departure . . . exactly
who I want to be when I
grow up!!!

I was twenty, married, and
in Mexico when we began
celebrating Earth Day. I was
beyond thrilled, Pantheist
that I am! Our Mother ever
needs and deserves to be
honored.

As time went by, I'd prep my
April 22 classes with Mother
Earth in mind, bringing news,
ideas, fun about the day.

Carefully choosing foods that
honored her, we'd celebrate in
the evening with our neighbors
and more stories to share each
and every year!

Hopefully, we'll hold her dear
to our hearts today. And, may
this help us to remember our
Mother each day in the up-
coming weeks and months.

04/21/2025, Pope Francis

Alas, today we lost Pope Francis.

He was one of the most amazing
popes we've ever had as far as
I'm concerned.

My heart goes out to all our
Catholic brothers and sisters.
Pray, may you be comforted.

Blessed be . . .

"There is some good in this
world, and it's worth fighting
for." ~J.R.R. Tolkien

I so believe this statement!

And, I've asked myself again
and again, "What can I do at
75?" I have friends who march.
Others write letters and make
calls.

For me, this exemplifies that
if you want to do your bit, it
can be done!

For moi, 'twill ever be about
writing letters. Obviously,
some thought needs to go
into the words chosen and to
whom they are sent.

Bottom line, we must all do
our part!

"Silence is a woman's loudest
cry. If she's speechless, then
her heart is too tired for words."
~Ravenwolf

Not quite certain if silence is
a gift or a hindrance . . .

Thinking back, there have been
times in my life when I simply
opened my mouth and silence
was no more.

Not quite sure when it happened,
at some point I shut my mouth
and opened it no more.

There are times I feel I might
simply explode! What does one
do with all that bottled up angst,
sorrow, anger?

Still, bottom line, methinks 'tis
best to keep my own counsel . . .

 . . . Now, I just need to figure
out what to do with this inner
explosive!

Pray tell . . .

04/18/2025

Alas, we live in a troubled world
in tough times . . . and yet, people
are still kind. 'Tis most incredible!

Yesterday was our leave the cabin
once a month day. We like to do
our errands this way . . . sooooo,
thought I'd observe.

Hit the license place; long line!
The clients' moods were all over
the place. When it was my turn,
the gal was as sweet as she could
be. Amazing!

Next, the bank. Didn't even have
to wait in line. I was dealt with
most professionally, kindly. I kept
thinking, "Where do these public
servants get all their patience?"

Then the docs . . . my least fave
place in the universe. Alas, I had
missed my appointment. There
was a reschedule involved but
everyone was kind and patient
with moi . . . Kept wondering if
'twas my elder years?!

Only three more places to go . . .
Again, everyone who served me
was kind, patient, friendly. My
faith in humankind is restored.

Wow! Just W O W !!! Tough
times, fab peeps!!!

"Play in the river, walk bare
foot on the sand, dance under
the moon, sleep under the stars,
and you'll likely find that very
little is needed to live a happy
life." ~Brooke Hampton

'Tis good to be reminded . . .

Rather like seeing those things
in my own world that make me
happy!

-deer and elk on my property
-raccoons playing under the
night light
-arrival of an unaccepted pkg
-real mail arrival
-a warm sunny day
-knock on the door

Methinks the reason I write
about this again and again is
to remind me to pay attention.

Alas, ever so easy to get bogged
down in the negative . . .

Fighting to stay positive here!

"A single rose can be my
garden a single friend, my
world." ~Leo Buscaglia

Alas, we live in a world
that firmly believes . . .
"More is better; most is
best!"

Ere, we tend to forget the
joy, the beauty, the glory
of . . . "Less is best!"

Just think about it . . .
a hug when needed, one
special kiss, being held,
a visit from an old friend.

A once in a lifetime treat,
a walk down a small town,
window shopping with no
shekels at hand.

I sooooo wish to spend my
latter years with those 'lil
joys rather that all the huge.

Ahhhhh, the joy of . . .
 . . . understanding

04/15/2025

Can't help but wonder, why?

I dreamt last night that my
daughters were helping me
clean my travel trailer with
a fine tooth comb!

I had lent it to Martin for one
of his dino footprint excursions
and alas, he had returned it in
quite a state.

At some point, he dropped in
to see how we were progressing
and we chatted as we worked.

Then, my parents and my guy
and his son, came by with treats
and good wishes, but not to help.
They didn't stay long.

Thought to myself that we only
needed my bro to come by and
I'd see the entire fam in one fell
swoop!

Answer me this . . . why, oh why
am I regularly seeing my own
dead in dreams? Just missing
them? Soon to join them? Rather
makes me nervous if I'm to be
honest!

And, oh daughters mine, come
by any time for a chat and a clean.
I've never seen anything like the
way you took after that job!

"When you follow the crowd
you lose yourself, but when
you follow your soul you'll
lose the crowd. Eventually,
your soul tribe will appear,
but do not fear the process
of solitude." ~Unknown

So appreciate the wisdom
shared here! Isn't it just true
that every now and then you
run into something that truly
resonates?!

I almost think the quote
resonates with three ages.

Teenager:
"When you follow the crowd
you lose yourself." ~Unknown

Adult:
"When you follow your soul
you will lose the crowd."
~Unknown

Elder:
"Your soul tribe will  appear;
do not fear the process of
solitude." ~Unknown

These bits of wisdom sooooo
need pondering!

I'm thinking! I'm thinking!

2:00 a.m. No! 3:00 a.m.
NOT!! 4:00 a.m. Yay!!!

Pink Moon ahoy . . .

Actually, it was the brightest
yellow you could ever see!
Also, my favest shot as it
appeared to be right behind
some tree limbs. Wow! Just
WOW!!!

Now, here's how you can
tell just how stunning it
actually was . . .

My guy sat down on the
stairs for half an hour, on
his own, watching our
Lunar Lady.

I find it interesting that I'm
on the lunar path and he
enjoys her. My guy is on
the solar path and I enjoy
the sun ever so much!

Methinks we may just be
a match made in heaven . . .

Also known as micromoon,

"It is a serious thing just to be
alive on this fresh morning in
this broken world." ~Mary Oliver

Alas, my heart hurts . . .

I find that it hurts more on
certain days. Methinks I need
to stop watching the news.
Still, I'll be running through my
FB page and all of a sudden it
pops up and I find myself in
tears.

I get that we shouldn't live in
ignorance. But, maybe for the
first time in my life, I'm willing
to do so. Reality is just too
REAL!!!

Sooooo, indeed I am much
grateful to be alive and well
for the most part . . . but, I
don't have to condone nor
accept all the horrific that
surrounds us.

Not sure what to do about it . . .
or even if I can . . .

"That's the thing about books.
They let you travel without
moving your feet." ~J. Lahiri

Sooooo love me my books!

Still remember first grade and
the joy reading brought to me.
From then on, I prided myself
in reading a book a day.

From there, I went on to
Readers' Digest condensed
books. Perfect variety for a
gradeschool kid.

As I grew older, the books
became bigger, thicker, lost
the pictures and were vastly
interesting. Every night I'd
read for many an hour.

Not certain when I actually
began my own library. It now
holds about 7,000. Would have
been more, but my son wanted
the old philosophers books.

Can't help but wonder what my
children will do with them as I
pass onto the better life. They
have served me well.

Currently reading Mickey Haller.
Fab author! Highly recommend!

Happy reading . . .

"And in between goals, there
is this thing called life and it
needs to be lived and enjoyed."
Forever Hippies

Rather seems to me that the
universe is conspiring to send
me reminders from all over
kingdom come!

Even now, at nigh onto a 100,
I still need to live rather than
simply exist!

In looking back, I see me in
different countries, eating
amazing foods, meeting new
people, driving all night just
to see someone special for a
day.

Perhaps, due to several things
I no longer travel. Still, one
can eat, drink and be merry,
to coin a phrase. Visitors are
to be enjoyed. Mail sent and
cards received. Even the walk
to the mailbox is good.

Methinks, 'tis all about doing,
getting on with that which is
available to one's needs and
abilities.

Life doesn't end in our elder
years, it simply changes. I
find I'm ever so pleased to

still be here . . .

"The earth has music for those
who listen." ~George Santayana

Sooooo love this quote. Saw
it this early a.m. on Facebook.

I am reminded of the sound
of the breeze blowing through
the leaves in the trees.

Sitting by a brook and hearing
those sweet notes of water
running over stones is most
precious.

Sounds of pelting hail hitting
anything in its way can be
rather frightening. Although,
I find the soft touch of light
rain like kisses from the gods.

Everywhere you look, there
are sounds provided by our
Mother, Mother Earth, Mother
Nature.

Love her and listen . . .

"The quote, 'The earth has
music for those who listen' is
often attributed to Shakespeare,
but it's actually a quote from
George Santayana."

"I believe in kindness
Also in mischief"
~Mary Oliver

Sooooo love and enjoy
Mary Oliver. She's pure
homespun joy in my
opinion!

I would have liked to have
seen some of her mischief.
Bet it was fun!

Alas, I don't even know how
to tell a joke. I can be a tad
sardonic from time to time.
That doesn't go over well
either. Just ask my children.

Methinks the best kind of
mischief may just be living
in the moment, enjoying
life and being oneself
totally and completely . . .

"My mother gave birth
to her soul and set her
body free this early morn."
~Leanne Babcock

I read these sweet words
and felt absolutely wowed
by the power and beauty
in them.

Indeed, I understand that
death can be an incredible
gift to the aged and ailing;
'twas just so for my own
mother.

We often feel that death
has crept in and taken a
soul too soon. Alas, 'tis
something over which
we have no power.

I find, I much admire the
words, sentiment and way
of viewing death by author
Leanne Babcock.

Seems to me I still have a
great deal to learn!

"I hope that real love and truth
are stronger in the end than any
evil or misfortune in the world."
~Charles Dickens

Alas, I fear we use the word
love so loosely it is almost
meaningless.

   -Love your dress
   -Just love that actor
   -Love winter
   -Love nighttime
   -Love you

Do you love me as much as
that delish hamburger? Do
you love your children as
much as you love this meal?
Do you love your mate as
much as you love your car?

I'm making an effort to like
things and love people. It's
easy to forget as the love
lingo has been with us for
years.

If, "I like your meal" isn't
strong enough, you could say,
"Your meal was excellent,
very enjoyable" or words to
that effect.

I'm watching myself; I want
my love to mean something.
When I tell you I love you,
'tis exactly what I mean!

"Your soul already knows
the answer. You just have
to be quiet enough to hear it
and brave enough to listen."
~Stacie Martin

Alas, methinks I'm guilty of
not listening. I keep my mind
busy . . . ever and always!

Can't help but wonder if that
might be because I'm afraid
of what I might hear!

   -Slow down and listen
   -Quiet your mind
   -Stop thinking
   -Listen to your heart beat
   -Let the wisdom in

God only knows what I might
learn if I just shut up, listened
and actually heard!

Get a grip and listen up, ld!!!

"Turn off the news. Go
outside. Breathe. We were
not meant to carry the
burden of the entire world."
Goddess Love

Methinks, I've not often
heard better advice . . .

I can live without the news;
make no mistake. I get that
it's important to know what's
going on. Still, it's rather what
makes us feel so burdened.

I'm not suggesting we live in
ignorance. We need to know
what's going on. What we
need is balance . . .

A bit of the know, a lot of the
fam and friends, a tad of our
great outdoors, and of course
minding our health.

By making certain that we've
a full plate with a serving of
everything, a balanced diet
occurs.

Word of advice from the most
unbalanced Libra I know . . .

Seek those bits and pieces that
make your life whole. Don't
just get bogged down in the
news!

Apr 3, 2025

04/03/2025

Methinks each of us should
know intimately our own
beliefs, our own code of
ethics. Think making lists
might help . . .

+Love, like, admire, enjoy,
adore . . .

 . . . friendship, reading,
eating, drinking, resting,
conversing

-Hate, deplore, despise,
detest, abhor, loathe, dislike,
spit on . . .

 . . . vast wealth vs. poverty,
a sense of I'm better than you,
trash island in the ocean,
littering

Quite the list, but it doesn't
please me. Sounds more like
a tantrum. I truly sense my
Pantheistic nature leads me
to this . . .

   -Mother Nature is sacred
   -reverence for all life
   -the divine within

I want to think about this.
Perhaps I should look at it
each morn upon awaking!

"Women are taught to
be too many things that
contradict each other, so
I've decided to just be
strange and powerful."
~Shatara Liora

Alas, methinks 'tis meant
to be humorous . . . but, in
my mind it makes so much
sense.

Perhaps, something to do
with so many trips around
the sun . . . 'bout 75 by now.

When I was a young lass,
the girls did inside work
and the boys, outside jobs.
Dads worked and moms
stayed home with babes
and housework.

I am ever so grateful that
my mom was proactive.
Went to college, worked
for the AEC, Atomic
Energy Commission for
30 years, divvied up the
housework and still read
every night.

What an example! I get
that a great deal of who I
am today is down to her.

Dear God, please tell her
I am ever so grateful!

"Life is so ironic . . .
it takes sadness to know
what happiness is, noise
to appreciate silence and
absence to value presence.
~A little bit witchy
~A little bit hippie

Alas, 'tis the truth.

Can't even begin to imagine;
we pay so little attention to
the positive 'til the negative
comes home to stay.

Perhaps, it's as easy as a look
around, seeing all that we've
to be grateful for. Maybe,
even making a gratitude list.

Family, friends, hearth and
home, apparel, transportation.
Does it get any better than
that?!

Frankly, I'm embarrassed to
see I don't give thanks more
often.

Truly, I am ever so grateful . . .
